Great service, rooms and location
We brought a family of four for 4 days/3 nights of a week in Belize. The most notable aspect of this resort is the service. The team — from drivers to guides to concierge/reservations to bartenders and waiters– is first class. Friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating, and helpful. We were in Rooms #2 and #3 which were perfect for 2 teens and 2 parents — spacious, well-decorated and extremely clean and comfortable with great views of the river. We got excellent advice on what to do and went to lunch in town/Barton Creek Caves on one day and Tikal on another, a perfect mix of “short, local and memorable” and “long, but epic and worth it”.
Best resort in Belize
We stayed here for 5 nights – We are a family of 4 – two kids 10 and 13 – We had the best time. Very very friendly staff, they go out of the way to make it a great experience – beautiful resort – we are vegetarian and the chef cooked us delicious meals each time. We enjoyed the pool, the spa, the river, the guided hike and the overall beauty of the resort. The two guides at the resort were wonderful – we did many tours with them and they made sure we have the best Belize experience! You better Belize it!
Mystic River Royalty
Mystic River is exactly what we were looking for in our first stay in the Cayo district. It is secluded, but not too far out of the way from activities (we were even able to canoe down to the local market in San Ignacio). The resort is tranquil at times and at others, is full of sounds from various birds, bugs and howler monkeys. Pieter & Petro that manage the hotel are an absolute wonder!
Absolutely the best vacation
I would first like to start off to say that Petra and Peter are awesome! Their attentiveness to me and my wife made the vacation an absolute delight. These two ensured everything that we needed was taken care of well ahead of time and even provided transportation for us to the local city
Quiet solitude, surrounded by instant best friends
We stayed two nights at Mystic River; not nearly enough time to do. much, but enough time to know this is a special place with something for everyone. From quiet time by the pool, to high energy excursions, this place has you covered.
Magical place
Mystic River is the most magical place we have ever been! We spent 3 days and had an amazing time. It is hard to believe you are in a tropical jungle with the beautiful accommodations they offer. The food, staff and setting were first rate! Hats off to our hosts Petro and Pieter. They were awesome! Would return in a heartbeat!!!
Beautiful resort with incredible food and amazing staff
We stayed at Mystic River Resort in early November 2021. We organized transportation from Belize airport though the resort and had an informative and entertaining ride with Albi. We were greeted at the resort by Petro, who was extremely helpful in setting up tours and showing us the resort.
Paradise indeed!
I cannot say enough good things about Mystic River Resort! The staff is AMAZING… I mean AMAZING! They were so pleasant and made our honeymoon so special down to every little detail. Upon arrival they set up all details/pick up times for our excursions in the area while we were staying with them. We didn’t lift a finger and felt like we received such VIP treatment!
Amazing 9 Days in the Jungle
I don’t even know where to begin. From the start, Sylvia was great with promptly responding to my e-mail inquiries, and getting me information. She was able to put together a nice package including a Cloud 9 room, meal plan, and several tours that was reasonably priced, and a good fit for the number of nights that we wanted to stay (8). Overall, my wife and I have decided that Mystic River is possibly our favorite lodging that we’ve ever stayed at, and we’ve traveled a ton. We both hope to make it back there someday
